Our US Congress is out of control when it comes to fiscal responsibility. They are spending billions and billions of dollars that are not in the US Treasury. The Congress is extending unemployment, bailouts to firms, and the debt ceiling. Our nation is being owned by foreign governments and individuals who buy our bonds and financial paper. The US dollar is sinking to all-time lows and will destroy our trading ability and our economy.
America is a great nation. It enjoys unprecedented wealth. Its people are among the freest in the world. And, with the world's most powerful armed forces, the United States is largely the master of its own destiny. Yet there is an insidious threat to America's continued greatness. It gets scarce attention because its effects are not immediate, but that threat is real. It is the threat of crushing government debt. Few things can march a great power down the road of decline faster than irresponsible economic policies - and huge debt is most often the drum leader of the pack. To learn which nations are most at the mercies of their enemies, just look at the World Bank's list of most "highly indebted poor countries." Today, the federal government is piling up debt as never before. Publicly-held debt now exceeds $7 trillion -about $22,000 per person. And it's expected to increase by $9 trillion over the next 10 years. Yes, we had extremely high debt after World War II, but unlike today's debt, it was temporary. Today's massive and growing entitlement costs mean that, absent reform, the picture will only get worse over the long-term. What difference does this make for U.S. security? The more we have to pay to service the rising debt and pay out for entitlements, the less there is for defense. Unless we reverse course, this means that - in our children's lifetime - the U.S. military might be unable to protect a sea lane vital to trade and military supply lines. We might be unable to suppress an enemy regime that launches a terrorist attack against us. And absent the great American economic engine, we might lack the resources to stay on the cutting edge of technology, leaving our soldiers vulnerable to being matched or even trumped on the battlefield by better-equipped foes. Other ruinous scenarios are possible as well. Suppose foreigners refuse to buy U.S. debt, leading to debt-induced inflation that eats away at productivity and the currency. In this situation, Americans could completely lose confidence in protecting our interests abroad. Beset by inflation and other towering economic problems, Americans could understandably turn toward isolationism, as they had by the 1930s. This would create power vacuums around the world and unleash enemies bent on challenging the great "sick man of America." The elected leaders of our country are not true to their oath of office and are causing our nation to become a true-debtor nation. We cannot keep spending billions of dollars at the federal level when we do not have the funds. Government programs have to be reduced. Where is the fiscal responsibility of the US Congress? -

Our Department of Education and Unions ask our teachers to do the below, instead of teaching the students English, history, math, and other subjects. Our schools systems have serious problems since we now dump all of the social problems on teachers.
After being interviewed by the school administration, a prospective teacher said: Let me see if I've got this right. You want me to go into that room with all those kids, correct their disruptive behavior, observe them for signs of abuse, monitor their dress habits, censor their T-shirt messages, and instill in them a love for learning. You want me to check their backpacks for weapons, wage war on drugs and sexually transmitted diseases, and raise their sense of self esteem and personal pride. You want me to teach them patriotism and good citizenship, sportsmanship and fair play, and how to register to vote, balance a checkbook, and apply for a job. You want me to check their heads for lice, recognize signs of antisocial behavior, and make sure that they all pass the final exams. You also want me to provide them with an equal education regardless of their handicaps, and communicate regularly with their parents in English, Spanish or any other language, by letter, telephone, newsletter, and report card. You want me to do all this with a piece of chalk, a blackboard, a bulletin board, a few books, a big smile, and a starting salary that qualifies me for food stamps. You want me to do all this and then you tell me. . . I CAN'T PRAY? So what is wrong with our education system? Ask any teacher.... -

Afghan President Hamid Karzai questioned the reliability of the United States as a partner Sunday, as he fought off criticism of his government's legitimacy following fraud-marred elections. Is this because the US is demanding another election or his leadership over the last 8 years?
Mr. Karzai's main challenger, former Foreign Minister Abdullah Abdullah, warned in an interview with CNN that the U.S. strategy would not succeed without a credible partner in Kabul, blaming Mr. Karzai for deteriorating conditions. But underscoring the political headache that Washington faces if Mr. Karzai wins a runoff against Mr. Abdullah next month, Mr. Karzai pointed the finger at the United States in a separate, pre-recorded CNN interview. "Is the United States a reliable partner with Afghanistan? Is the West a reliable partner with Afghanistan?" Mr. Karzai asked. "Have we received the commitments that we were given? Have we been treated like a partner?" Mr. Karzai said a partnership to him was "where the Afghan lives are respected, where Afghan property is respected, where the Afghan traditions are respected, where we know the direction we are moving to." I would like to know what the leadership and people of Afghanistan have accomplished over the last 8 years in getting their county in line with a democracy? Are the people still growing poppies, using graft to accomplish government work, and still have in-fighting? Afghanistan has nothing to offer the US, except keeping the terrorist out of training bases. Is it worth our billions of dollars, the lives of our soldiers, and our efforts? It is time to either go after the terrorists without restrictions and kill them or get out? -

For years I have witnessed and said that the illegal trafficking of humans and drugs has caused great damage to our southwest environment. I have personally seen thousnds of tons of trash that includes empty water bottles, clothes, boxes, backpacks, and human waste along our southern border from Texas to California. The humanitarian groups, ACLU, and other left wing environmental groups that target businesses who want to log or drill for oil do not say anything about the illegals destroying our southwest environment and national forests.
Michael M. Hawkes, manager of the Buenos Aires National Wildlife Refuge, reaches across his desk and pulls out a homemade blue-and-red bumper sticker that reads, "Littering is always a crime." An estimated 300,000 illegal immigrants traversed Buenos Aires, AZ 118,000 acres in 2007, leaving tons of trash, rusting abandoned cars, biologically hazardous waste and vehicle tracks that reduced parts of the landscape to a dusty wasteland. That hurts just about every aspect of the refuge's mission, which was established in 1985 to try to preserve the endangered masked bobwhite quail, one of seven endangered species on the refuge. In the last two years, though, border security has been built up, with more manpower and a fence across the entire refuge boundary with Mexico. The result, according to Mr. Hawkes: The number of illegal crossers dropped to 20,600 in fiscal year 2009, or just 7 percent of what it was in 2007. Abandoned cars dropped from 100 in 2007 to zero in the most recent 12-month period. The land near the fence is already recovering. Along with the illegals doing damage to our environment, it turns out that on the U.S.-Mexico border, the humanitarian groups that drop gallon jugs of water on public lands to help illegal immigrants crossing the rugged borderlands also are responsible for this damage. Mr. Hawkes says dealing with those groups now takes up most of his time, and it only builds on top of the pile of other pressures — an army of illegal immigrants and drug smugglers, some of them armed, facing off against the U.S. Border Patrol — that have transformed his wildlife sanctuary into ground zero for the nation's immigration wars. Extreme environmental damage happens every day along the U.S.-Mexico border on personal ranches, refuges, Indian reservations, national forests and the rest of the federal lands that make up 40 percent of the boundary between the two countries. The clear losers in the clash are the land, and the plants and animals that live on the edge in this beautiful but precarious environment — innocent bystanders caught up in an escalating, seemingly endless war between the immigrants, smugglers and the drug cartels and the authorities charged with catching them. It is time for the Obama administration to stop this damage to our southwest desert and target the ones that damage our lands, plants, and animals. The border fence works and more must be accomplished to stop human trafficking across our borders. -

The below is an article from the Washington Times on an ICE program to enforce illegal immigration trhough the 287 (g) program. Every local and state police agency should be "forced" to adopt all federal programs that enforce US immigration laws or not receive any federal funds. To protect American citizens and taxpayers, Congress must design legislation that will enforce our laws or deny federal funding if local or state police agencies decide that they will not enforce our immigration laws. This will put pressure on local politicians who want open borders.
Assistant Secretary for U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) John Morton today announced standardized Memorandums of Agreement (MOAs) with 67 state and local law enforcement agencies to participate in 287(g) partnerships-improving public safety by prioritizing criminal aliens who are a threat to local communities, ensuring consistent and uniform policies and providing a force multiplier for ICE's immigration enforcement efforts across the country. "Coordinating with our state and local partners is important to smart and effective enforcement of our immigration laws," said Department of Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano. "These new agreements promote public safety by prioritizing the identification and removal of dangerous criminal aliens and ensure consistency and stronger federal oversight of state and local immigration law enforcement efforts across the nation. The rules set forth in these agreements will enhance our efforts to work together effectively with our local partners." "These new partnerships are an essential tool for law enforcement to identify and remove dangerous criminal aliens from local communities," said Assistant Secretary Morton. "Standardizing these agreements allows us to better use the resources and capabilities of our law enforcement partners, facilitates accountability and ensures that all participating jurisdictions are following uniform standards throughout the country." The state and local law enforcement partnerships announced today conform to the standardized 287(g) MOA announced by Secretary Janet Napolitano and Assistant Secretary Morton in July-strengthening ICE's overall immigration enforcement strategy by aligning local operations with ICE's major priorities, specifically the identification and removal of criminal aliens. The 287(g) program acts as a force multiplier, training officers from local jurisdictions to carry out smart, effective immigration enforcement efforts aligned with ICE priorities. Throughout the country, 1,075 local officers have been trained through 287(g)-bolstering national immigration enforcement efforts and saving hundreds of millions of dollars. From January 2009 to date, 287(g)-trained local officers are credited with the removal of approximately 24,000 aliens nationwide and have identified 48 percent more criminal aliens than during the same period in 2008. The new partnerships include the Jail Model, in which local law enforcement agencies designate Jail Enforcement Officers to identify aliens already incarcerated within their detention facilities who are eligible for removal, as well as the Federal Task Force Model, in which agencies designate officers to work with Federal agents in locating, processing and removing criminal aliens from the United States. 55 agreements have been signed by ICE and the partnering agency; 12 agreements have been reached and await approval by the local jurisdiction's supervisory authority; and Six agreements have negotiations underway. Six jurisdictions did not re-sign the new 287(g) agreement or withdrew during negotiations for a variety of reasons, including implementation of the Secure Communities program, budgetary constraints and limited program utilization. The new MOA clearly defines the objectives of the 287(g) program, outlines the immigration enforcement authorities granted by the agreement and provides guidelines for ICE's supervision of local agency officer operations-including information reporting and tracking, complaint procedures, and implementation measures. To address concerns that individuals may be arrested for minor offenses as a guise to initiate removal proceedings, the new agreement requires participating local law enforcement agencies to pursue all criminal charges that originally caused the offender to be taken into custody. The Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act (IIRAIRA) of 1996 added Section 287(g) to the Immigration and Nationality Act, which authorizes the DHS Secretary to enter into agreements with state and local law enforcement agencies to perform immigration officer functions. Pursuant to these agreements, designated officers who receive appropriate training and function under the supervision of sworn ICE officers are permitted to perform immigration law enforcement duties. -

Immigration Reform is needed in the United States. Yes, we need comprehensive immigration reform, but we do not start with amnesty for virtually everyone unlawfully in the United States. We stop all illegal human trafficking, restructure our MOUs and treaties with Mexico and other countries, stop all government services for illegals, arrest company managers who hire illegals, and have a coordinated effort by local, city, state, and federal police forces. The government must shut off jobs for illegals.
America's immigration and border security problems, can't be solved without first dealing with the estimated 12 to 20 million illegally living here. Most liberals and Democrats believe that there is no practical or compassionate alternative to just giving them all amnesty, often called legalization, and putting them on the road to citizenship. This kind of thinking is just flat wrong. The first problem with the case for an "amnesty first" approach is that it doesn't work. In 1986, President Reagan supported similar reforms. At the time, the unlawful population was about 3 million and now it is 12-20 million. That really worked!! Amnesty fails for two reasons. First, this approach undermines the rule of law. Allowing individuals to sidestep immigration laws just encourages more illegal border crossing. The second problem with "amnesty first" is that once the measure is passed, proponents of open borders lose all interest in compromise and kill further efforts to enforce immigration and workplace laws. The even bigger problem with "amnesty first" is that the American people will never let the law get passed. Immigration reform is not a partisan issue. It does not break down cleanly between liberals and conservatives, Republicans and Democrats. Attitudes on immigration are very much affected by regional, class and ethnic biases. Americans are not of one mind on this issue. Rather than starting with amnesty, Congress could begin with systemic reforms that would actually address the challenge of managing migration (rather than just emptying the illegal pool, only to watch it fill again). The government could start by creating temporary worker programs that would actually work, that would get employers the employees they need when they need them so that they grow their businesses and the American economy. The argument that temporary workers displace the work force is false. Jobs grow more jobs. It's that simple. The government will have to demonstrate that it can enforce the law and control America's borders. This is the flip side to creating effective temporary worker programs. Not only does the U.S. have to offer a legitimate alternative to unlawful employment, it has to make the alternative of ignoring the law a less appealing option. We need to divide the illegal population and develop specific strategies for each group. For example, several million of the illegal immigrants are single and not interested in U.S. citizenship. They would willingly self-deport back to their home countries if they at least had the hope of returning through a legitimate temporary worker program. Probably 1 million to 2 million are criminals who have committed felonies and probably shouldn't have been offered amnesty in the first place. They need to be the focus of deportation procedures by the Department of Homeland Security. If we stop all employment of illegals, except for those that register, we will shrink the illegal population to a more manageable level and much less of a burden to our communities, our sovereignty and our civil society. We have to get control of our borders and stop Mexico from directing our foreign policy. Playing politics with immigration rather than adopting an honest, sensible piecemeal reform program makes no sense. As long as comprehensive-reform Democrats continue their crusade, senseless policymaking will be the order of the day. It's time to end "amnesty first" and start enforcing the law and protecting American citizens. -

Freedom of speech is under assault, not only here in the United States, but in England. Liberals across the world are worried about the truth and try to restrict anyone who challenges them. Currently Michael Savage, America's third-most popular radio talk show host, is being assaulted from the liberals in England.
Earlier this year, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown's government placed Mr. Savage on a "least wanted" list, banning the fiery conservative from entering the United Kingdom. His name appeared beside those of Islamist extremists (including a Hamas terrorist), Russian skinheads who murdered more than 10 immigrants and neo-Nazi white supremacists. According to British officials, Mr. Savage poses a potential "threat" to public safety by inciting "hatred" and "inter-community violence." This is outrageous!! This week the Cambridge Union, one of Britain's most prestigious debating societies, revoked its invitation to have Mr. Savage participate via video link in a panel on political correctness. The Cambridge Union succumbed to political pressure from Mr. Brown's liberal-left wing government. In fact, e-mails have publicly emerged revealing that senior British officials - many of them with ties to the prime minister's office - placed Mr. Savage on the blacklist in order to provide "balance" alongside numerous radical Muslims. In short, Mr. Savage was sacrificed on the altar of multicultural diversity. Britain's ban on Mr. Savage is an assault on freedom of speech and freedom of the press. It is not only a political witch hunt that seeks to smear and slander his reputation. It poses a direct threat to his very safety. Mr. Savage has been living with a giant target on his back; the British government's claim that he is an Islamophobe only encourages deranged Muslim militants to possibly commit acts of violence against him and his family - including murder. It is a license for jihad. This is the same thing that left wing liberal in the US are trying to do to conservative radio through what they call the "fairness doctrine". Radicals and leftists do not like the truth and try to silence individuals who challenge them. This is a worldwide media effort targeting conservatives. -

Why are so many of our soldiers dying in Afghanistan? Is it the wrong military strategy, low troop level, or other issues. In my opinion, it is a combination of factors.
One day after an attack in Afghanistan killed eight American soldiers, President Obama's national security adviser downplayed both the importance of U.S. troop levels and the possibility of a Taliban return to power. National security adviser James L. Jones suggested that Gen. McChrystal's call for more troops must be tempered by diplomatic considerations as the president weighs how to deal with the 8-year-old war. "Well, I think the end is much more complex than just about adding 'X' number of troops. Afghanistan is a country that's quite large and that swallows up a lot of people," the retired Marine general said on CNN's "State of the Union." "It would be, I think, unfortunate if we let the discussion just be about troop strength. There is a minimum level that you have to have, but there's, unfortunately, no ceiling to it," he reiterated in a separate appearance on CBS' "Face the Nation." He also said political progress was essential and criticized the Afghan government of President Hamid Karzai as making insufficient progress. The reasons for more dangerous attacks are below: 1. Lack of good government policies from the Afghan government and Karzai 2. Increase of Iran's involvement with money, equipment, supplies, and personnel 3. Increased and coordinated efforts by the terrorists to attack in Afghanistan 4. Lack of US military strategy due to limited resources 5. Lack of US military support from the administration 6. Lack of security and economic development with government graft in Afghanistan The US cannot leave Afghanistan as we did before. We must stay and help the country in its efforts toward Democracy and stability. Afghanistan has always been a violent and uncontrolled country and its citizens must help with its effots to move into the modern world. We have to support Afghanistan due to our national security interests. -
